Last night at the Agora Theatre, pop punk band The Wonder Years returned to Cleveland with Motion City Soundtrack, State Champs and You Blew It!
You Blew It! and State Champs opened up the fifth night of the tour. State Champs was last in Cleveland for the Alternative Press Music Awards in July. Used to Cleveland’s Grog Shop, this was the band’s first time performing at the Agora. Last night was also the culmination of the first week since the release of their latest album, Around The World And Back. Highlights from the State Champs set included the performance of “Secrets” and their extra song, “Elevated.”
Motion City Soundtrack is also promoting a new release. Panic Stations, the band’s sixth album, was released this past September. The band played a nice mix of both old and new tracks. The highlight of their set was the performance of “The Future Freaks Me Out” and the crowd’s positive, sing-along response.
The Wonder Years are currently celebrating the ten year anniversary of the band’s formation and release of their debut record. Highlights of the set included their performance of “There, There” and new tracks off their latest release, No Closer To Heaven. Released this past September, No Closer To Heaven is the band’s fifth studio album. One of those bands that arguably sounds better live than recorded, The Wonder Years never fails to impress Cleveland with their high, infectious energy.
