Interview – By The Glory | Kryptonite Music Magazine

The following fill in the blanks come from punk rock band, By The Glory. This unsigned 3-piece hails from Montreal. They released their debut album, The Fight EP, back in the Spring of 2014. It consists of four tracks and my favorite is titled “This Is Chemistry.” This April, By The Glory will be performing a hometown show with Hawthorne Heights of Dayton, Ohio. I recently sent over some fill in the blanks to learn more about what else they have planned for 2015. Be sure to check out the official video for “This Is Chemistry” below.

We are….

Zachary – Lead vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Thierry – Bass
Matt – Lead Guitar/Back Vocals
(currently drummer-less but seeking a new drummer)

Three words we’d use to describe us are….pizza, beards, hats

The meaning/story behind our name By The Glory is….By The Glory means reliving your glory days. We all got into playing music in the golden age of pop punk and want to bring those glory days back.

We met each other….In the early 2000s. We were all playing shows in different bands in the Montreal underground music scene back then. Years later, Zack and Thierry had a vision to get a new band going. They posted adds seeking musicians to join the project and Matt jumped on the opportunity! The rest is history.

The pickiest eater is….Thierry, hands down. There’s a strange rumour out there that says he only eats chicken McNuggets, it remains unconfirmed.

The most OCD member is….Probably Zack. He’s the only one with no scratches on his guitar or amp. Truth.

For fun we like to….Grab a brewski and catch a good hockey game…in true Canadian fashion.

One thing we want you to remember while listening to our music is….It’s more fun than a water park full of penguins.

The Fight EP was recorded….During one weekend in a french rap producer’s smokey basement.

If we play another band’s music it’s….New found glory

Something odd we want our fans to know about us is….We collectively own way too many pets.

In the next six months you should expect….We’re currently working on some new tracks so you can expect to hear some new stuff soon enough. We will be in Toronto in May for the Canadian Music Week festival & we’re also going to be playing shows all summer long so you should totally be on the lookout for that.
