The following fill in the blanks come from electro/indie rock band, Sir Sly. This 3-piece hails from Los Angeles and consists of members Landon Jacobs, Jason Suwito, and Hayden Coplen. The band’s hit single “Gold” was released in the spring of 2013 and their latest full-length effort, You Haunt Me, was released this past fall. Everyone has been buzzing about the freshness of their dark pop sound. Learn more about the band below and be sure to check out the music video for “You Haunt Me” below.
We met each other….Landon and I met playing music at church when we were teenagers. We eventually met Jason through some mutual friends in the music industry and got in the studio with him.
The pickiest eater is….Hayden, definitely Hayden. He doesn’t even like cheese.
The most OCD member is….still Hayden. OCD is a pretty serious condition though, and none of us actually struggles with it.
For fun we like to….Play smash brothers N64, get into verbal arguments over ping pong, etc
We’re currently listening to….
H: New Drake mixtape, Until The Ribbon Breaks, Mikky Ekko, Beck, Sufjan Stevens’ record Age of Adz
One thing we want you to remember while listening to our music is….
H: Not all songs have to be about romantic relationships.
L: Life is mostly a long string of shitty circumstances; talking / writing about it honestly is the best way to sort through it.
Our favorite tracks to play live are….
H: “Nowhere”
J: “Too Far Gone”
L: “Ghost”
Our craziest or most memorable gig was….
H: Crystal Ballroom in Portland was very special for me. It was our biggest headline show/sold out/and our first true encore.
L: The first time I crowd surfed was at a 107.7 The End radio festival outside Seattle. That was a lot of fun.
If we play another artist’s music it’s….We’ve covered Drake, Arcade Fire, and Radiohead.
We’re absolutely terrified of….
J: Philippe
H: String cheese
L: Being Insignificant
Our last meals would be….
J: The fine 3/5 star establishment, Jalapenos.
H: Outback Steakhouse
L: I would make Famous Donuts make me one last sandwich, even though they stopped making sandwiches over a year ago.
In the next six months you should expect….Hopefully more shows, and hopefully some new music. We are always writing new stuff, and we would love to keep releasing it for people to have.
