The following fill in the blank responses come from Brooklyn-based artist, IOLA. This Norway native and indie-folk artist will be dropping her debut album, Arnfinn, this summer. Her unique and diverse background strongly influences her music and it’s difficult not to enjoy her gentle and ethereal sound. Three words I’d use to describe myself are….personable, silly, and eccentric.
My favorite season is….fall I love autumn colors. So beautiful especially in the mountains of North Carolina.
I find inspiration from…my husband, my family, my friends, experiences, kooky stories, music, dreams, meditations, memories, travel, books, movies, car horns blasting outside my apartment window…
For fun I like to….go to Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg with my husband, watch an awesome movie, and eat the best-veggie-burger-in-town.
Something I hope to accomplish as a musician is….get better at the guitar.

I’m currently listening to….I listen to Sturgill Simpson almost daily. I’ve also been listening to Perfume Genius, The Judds, and “This American Life.”
The first song I wrote was….called “La Man,” and, it is about one of my best friends. I should pull it out of the bottom of my guitar case and see what I can do with it. It is pretty weird.
One thing I want you to remember while listening to my music is….I like to sing about not being too hard on yourself because life’s way too short to beat yourself up all the time.
Something odd I want my fans to know about me is….I was struck by lightning when I was really little.
My last meal would be….cheese fondue, french bread, red wine, and frozen grapes.
I’m absolutely terrified of….heights.
In the next six months you should expect…that I will release a couple of videos, put out my album, and announce my tours!
