Eclectic psych rock trio, MASZER, recently announced the release of their upcoming EP. The trio was formed by Tomer-David Rapaport (aka STITCX) who is joined by Joseph Braley, and Katie Blackstock. The new record, DREAMSZ, was released on March 18th. It consists of three recent singles along with two new tracks titled “Pandora’s Box” and “California Sees You.” Learn more about the band from their responses and be sure to check out DREAMSZ below.
Three words we’d use to describe us are….Friends, musicians, dreamers-of-dreamsz
The story/meaning behind our name MASZER is….It means ‘tithing’ in Hebrew (מְעַשֵּׂר). The band plans on donating at least 10% of the profits as the name suggests. The English spelling is an acronym to our other projects that preceded MASZER, Mother’s Anger, Stitcx & ZERos and one.
We met each other….Long story short — Milo dated JoJo’s cousin and needed a drummer. Stitch relocated to Texas and needed a band. We all met Kate through a magician friend after moving to Seattle. We all knew it was all meant to be.
The pickiest eater is….Stitcx! We’ll be eating at a vegetarian restaurant and he’ll still ask if his dish is strictly veggie.
The most OCD member is…. Maybe Milo. Have you seen his closet?
For fun we like to….Tour, play music and party every night, obviously!
We’re currently listening to….Atoms for Peace, Wild Powwers, Black Pussy, Ty Segall, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Wand, Reason to Rebel, to name a few!
Our favorite 90s jams include….“Hooker With a Penis” by TOOL, Jesus Christ Pose, Paranoid Android
Our favorite tracks to play live include….“ROAR,” “Dancing Mice,” “World Music Song of Hope”
The first song we wrote together was….“Fata Mirage”
DREAMSZ was recorded in….Stitcx’s magnificent bandcave in Los Angeles and Birdhouse+Basement Sessions in Seattle
One thing we want you to remember while listening to our music is….We love you
Something odd we want our fans to know about us is….We love each other! Also beside living in the van together, we reside in three different states right now so every show and tour is a real celebration for us.
We’re absolutely terrified of….Driverless cars, although it’d be nice to sleep in the van while it takes us to our next show.
Our last meals would be….Pot brownies with sweet mushrooms sauce, Fernet Branca, hummus and mezcal El Silencio
In the next six months you should expect….The Summer! And a new batch of songs we’re excited to share with you! Come party with us.
