Interview – The Johnsons | Kryptonite Music Magazine

The following fill in the blanks come from Hollywood-based 3-piece, The Johnsons. The band is comprised of three brothers – Clayton, Connor, and Chantry Johnson. I came across their cover of “Rude” by Magic! a while ago and immediately added them to our list of Recommended Artists. The trio has an awesome musical approach that’s both genuine and jaunty. I particularly love their infectious energy and obsession with pizza and sour candy. Most recently, The Johnsons released a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Style” which you can view below. The pickiest eater is….

CLAYTON. – Unanimous

Clayton’s diet consists of pizza, candy, chicken nuggets, and go figure how he looks the way he does. – Chantry

I think diet companies tell you those things are “bad” just to get you to buy their “healthy” food. – Clayton

The most OCD member is….

We all get pretty bad sometimes, but Chance is a germaphobe, so probably him. – Connor

The member that would make the best girl is….

Connor. His body is frail and delicate. – Clayton

He did give birth to a stuffed animal deer when we were kids…. – Chantry

I’m comfortable with my feminine side, but I’m full of masculinity. – Connor

For fun we like to….

We’re Mario Kart obsessed, I even have a Yoshi tattoo that me and Sky Blu from LMFAO got together. – Clayton

I’d have to say BANG BANG. Mandy Jiroux is like our sister, and to play full band and with a huge, great crew, it was just a really fun day. – Connor

That these are songs that we make because we love them, we genuinely do this because we feel fulfilled creating music. And also not to take life too seriously. – Chantry

I backpacked through Europe with my pet hamster when I was 17 – Connor
