Three words I’d use to describe myself are….Colorful, charismatic, insane.
I find inspiration from….The world around me, whether it be an eye catching advertisement that I may draw from visually, a song or a painting that gives me a feeling, an event that occurred which I read about in the news, or an experience I had which gave me some insight into a deeper theme I want to explore.
I knew I wanted to pursue music when….Even before I’d ever played an instrument or sang I believed deep inside me that I would become a rock star. I looked at the guys on MTV and thought “I can do that!” I began by exploring electronic beat making, got a drum machine from my friend FLO and did my first demo, which was called “God Bless America!!!” I can’t even find those recordings now!
For fun I like to….Work out, read, meditate, go to dinner, spend time with family, relax with my girl, write new music or make visual art.
I’m currently listening to….Ministry, Kanye West, Tyler the Creator, Swans, Crystal Castles, Modest Mouse, Sublime, Pink Floyd, The Who, Marilyn Manson, The Beatles, Madonna, David Bowie, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, The Soft Moon, ohGr, Godflesh, Joy Division, The Smashing Pumpkins, Skinny Puppy, Queens of the Stone Age, The Tear Garden, White Zombie, Nirvana
The first song I wrote was….I wrote a song called “Muhammad was a Terrorist” and did a music video as well, hoping to enrage radical Muslims and be killed for my art. I was twisted…There were drugs involved…
V Ω I D H E A D was recorded in….Mainly at a house in Washington DC where Baba Yaga was living, and some stuff was done in NYC.
One thing I want you to remember while listening to my music is….Whatever it makes you feel…and icicles…
My craziest or most memorable gig was….The first night of this tour in Salt Lake City I performed in assless leather chaps for a bunch of teenagers. I shoved a glow stick up my ass and threw it to someone in the crowd who caught it. We glitter bombed the stage and the venue was enraged. Then these girls took us for pizza and to see the abandoned home of serial killer Ted Bundy. A light was on in the window…good times.
Something odd I want my fans to know about me is….I don’t drink or drug. No kids you don’t need to do that to be insane or a hot mess…
My last meal would be…Thai or Vietnamese with a hot jasmine tea.
I’m absolutely terrified of….Cockroaches.
In the next six months you should expect….We will be writing our next album G Ω D H E A D.
